So I had an in depth meeting with the powers to be about Bryan Park and this is what was said.

The City:
DOES NOT!!!!
want to relocate the entire back nine.
DOES NOT!!!!
want to drive out disc golfers.
DOES NOT!!!!
want to do anything except improve the course.

The City;
DOES
want to install concrete tee pads
DOES
want to create signage for the holes
DOES
want to add multiple pin placements
DOES
want to make disc golf a permanent entity to Bryan Park

In a nutshell, the city is in full support of disc golf being at Bryan Park.

Now with that said. This year is Bryan Parks 100th year anniversary and the entrance to the park is going to be restored to its historic state and apparently there were no disc golf baskets back in the day.

This means that the city does have its criteria that will need to be met and there will be changes to the course. So...We may loose a couple of the existing holes, and we may need to reinvent the way things flow a little, but nothing that will ruin things and absolutely nothing that will keep us from wanting to play Bryan park.

The City is making available to us, a section of woods on the opposite side of the pavilion. It is rough right now, but has tremendous potential and I do believe that it will be a huge asset to the course. There is enough room for 2-5 holes and It will give the course a nice mix of wooded holes along with its big booming open fairways. And once the course redesign is set, then construction on Tee-pads and other amenities will be added.

There will be a course design group (of bona fide golfers) put in place and planning will begin upon release of the new budget year. But nothing will be decided on until after July and nothing will be done until next winter.

So at this point, I would ask that we cease and desist the sending of emails to the city officials, as it is only their goal to improve Disc golf at Bryan Park. And if we want Bryan park to be the best that it can be, then we need to show support for the people that are striving to make it that way.

For anybody who has played Pratt Park - what's your take on it? Somebody is coming in from out of town and playing the grange, Loreilla and hawk hollow. What courses would be similar to it? Is it worth going to Pratt if you're playing the others mentioned?

Thanks in advance.
